The city of Dali, Yunnan Province in SW China is a multicultural venue with diverse life-styles, architecture, languages and food. This mountainous region is also famous for its wonderful scenery, including the Big Bend of the Yangtze River, the Yulong Snowy Peak in Lijiang, hot-springs in Tengchong, natural botanical garden in Xishuangbanna, and the Stone Forest near Kunming. Dali is a popular tourist town lying beside a lake (the Erhai Lake, which sits right on the Red River fault zone). Climate in September is very nice with the highest temperature being ca.15-20 °C.
