The Olympic Green will be the
centerpiece for the Olympic Games. It covers a total area of 1,215 hectares, of
which 760 hectares will be wooded areas and greenery.
The remaining part of
the Olympic Green consists of the Chinese Ethnic Culture Museum that occupies 50
hectares and the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) that is 405
hectares in land area.
The Olympic Village and nearly half of the Olympic
venues will be located in the Olympic Green, including the National Stadium
where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games will be held and
the National Aquatics Center. The
Olympic Green will host the competitions of some 15 Olympic sports in
2008.
It locate in the northern tip of the city's central axis, and it will
become a center of cultural, recreational and sports activities in Beijing after
the Olympic Games.
