Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City  

The Forbidden City, also called the Palace Museum, was first begun in 1406. It took as many as a million laborers and 100000 artisans to complete the first version of the city by 1420. The total area of the Forbidden City is 183 acres. Altogether there are 999 1/2 rooms in the City and some of them are converted into museums of art works collected by the Forbidden City.The Tian'anman Square is an enormous square facing the Gate of Heavenly Peace. It is the heart of modern Beijing.
