The 5th Asian Photochemistry Conference (5th APC), organized by the Asian Photochemistry Association and Chinese Photochemistry Association will be held on November 1-4, 2008 in Beijing, China.

Beijing is a modern capital with an ancient history. She is celebrated for her attractive natural surroundings, historic sites and cultural monuments, which make her a famous tourist city. The Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2008 will give the city a great opportunity to develop much faster and would benefit the coming conference. With her numerous research institutes, universities and colleges, Beijing is also the scientific and educational center in China.

The 5th APC aims to provide a successive opportunity for researchers engaged in photochemistry from all over the world to exchange their newest developments and ideas in the field of photochemistry after the last conference held in Taipei.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 5th APC, it is my pleasure to invite all the researchers in the international photochemisty community to join us at the 5th APC in Beijing and share the excitement of good science for the benefit of mankind.
